2018 Citizen Survey Results

In late summer 2018, the Village conducted the National Citizen Survey to learn more about how residents view Village programs and services, and what they think about life in the community.  The Village has contracted with the National Research Center in Boulder, Colorado, to conduct the National Citizen Survey every three years since 2003, with Village officials considering the results when allocating resources to various Village initiatives. The January/February 2019 edition of NewSkokie features a summary of the survey results, and the Village Board will hear a presentation on the survey findings at the January 7, 2019 Village Board meeting that begins at 8 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Skokie Village Hall, 5127 Oakton Street.  For more information about the 2018 National Citizen Survey or any of the surveys conducted since 2003, please click here.

Village Christmas Tree Pickup and Holiday Light Recycling Program

Weather permitting, Village of Skokie Public Works crews will pick up Christmas trees during the first two weeks in January.  To have your tree picked up for recycling, place it in the alley or at the curb where refuse is collected. Do not put the tree in a bag or container, and please remove all decorations.

Through January 31, 2019, all holiday string lighting and extension cords can be dropped off for recycling at the Skokie Public Works Department, 9050 West Gross Point Road, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
